BREAKING NEWS: Reverend John Cao, who is well known for his work in Myanmar, has had his trial postponed for the sixth time and is in poor health. Pray for Reverend John Chao!

Pastor John Cao

Pastor John Cao of North Carolina was arrested suddenly after crossing the border in Myanmar in March 2017. He was charged with “illegal border crossing” and sentenced to seven years in prison. Prior to this arrest, Cao had frequently made such crossings with the knowledge of the authorities due to the nature of his ministry work, but this was the first time they intervened. Law enforcement officials in China’s Yunnan province have continued to delay the appeal, which was this time re-scheduled for May 22, 2019. This is the sixth time in one year that the appeal has been postponed. Pastor John Chao’s health has deteriorated dramatically while he is in prison. He suffers from hemorrhoids and constipation and has even lost half of a tooth in addition to his lack of exposure to sunshine.
