VIETNAM — Former Prisoner for Christ Receives Medical Care

Thang, shown with his wife, travels thousands of miles a year on his motorbike to serve churches in his region.

Thang has been a follower of Christ for more than 35 years.

His extended family rejected him when they learned of his conversion, and he spent almost 10 years in prison suffering forced labor, poor rations and regular beatings for his ongoing testimony about Christ. Thang is regularly harassed, and he has been blacklisted by the government. As a result, he has no access to social services, including healthcare, and his family is closely monitored. This past year, Thang received medical care with the help of the body of Christ for a severe stomach ulcer. He is now able to continue visiting the many Hmong churches he oversees and serves.
