The community is threatening to fire this teacher because he is a Christian
Kye accepted Christ in 2004, after he had been at his teaching post for a year.
When the education committee learned of his conversion, they told him they were going to reassign him to a remote village if he did not renounce his faith. “I cannot stop my faith because it is the way to heaven,” Kye told them. “It is my salvation, so how can I stop?” Following through on their threat, the committee reassigned him to an isolated village, where he has since led several people to the Lord. When a new family accepted Christ this year and began to worship with Kye, local Communist Party officials told him he must renounce his faith, stop worshiping in his house and stop sharing about Christ. Already tested in his faith, Kye told the officials and the education committee that he cannot give up his faith because it is part of his life. The education committee is now threatening to fire him.
