One of the hundreds of churches in Burkina Faso recently destroyed by Islamic militants
In February 2023, jihadists burned and destroyed Pastor Laurent’s church in eastern Burkina Faso.
Then, in March 2023, jihadists abducted Pastor Laurent when he traveled to attend a regional pastors’ meeting. As the kidnappers forced him into the bush, he sent one text to his family, who haven’t heard from him since. A local villager later reported seeing him bound, blindfolded and being transported by the Islamic militants to a different area. VOM has helped his wife and six children move to a more secure location.
The family asks for prayers that Pastor Laurent’s life will be preserved and that he will be set free.
