NEPAL — Wife of Threatened Evangelist Suffering After Trauma
Jagat took refuge in the mountains of Nepal when his life was threatened
Jagat Wagle was transformed from a violent career criminal to a passionate evangelist when he encountered Jesus in the Bible given to him by a stranger in 1996.
Since then, he completed Bible school, became a pastor and now shepherds more than 300 believers. Hindu radical groups that dominate the area where Jagat ministers have repeatedly threatened harm or death, even bombing one church and posting pamphlets identifying Jagat as “most wanted.” One morning, police alerted him that his life was in imminent danger, and he took refuge in the mountains. The anguish of that time has had a lasting effect on Jagat’s wife, causing tremendous suffering. Jagat remains passionate for his ministry, but his wife’s condition is a heavy burden, and he asks for prayer.
