Christianity is unwelcome as a “foreign” religion in Laos.
Two Laotian men, Linh and Keon, heard the gospel from Christians in their respective villages.
Though afraid of the police and knowing that conversion could cause much trouble for them, they attended a worship service and prayed with the pastor to accept Christ as Lord. While they were still praying, police officers came to the house. The pastor was taken to the police station, interrogated, chastised for teaching a foreign religion and warned to stop. Two days later, police confronted Linh for his decision to believe in Christ instead of following a Lao religion. They have also threatened to take him to prison.
