LAOS — Family Fined for Hosting Worship Gatherings
Village authorities fined See (right) after his family hosted worship gatherings in their home.
On Jan. 4, authorities in See’s village learned of the Christian worship gatherings that had been taking place in his family’s home.
The village leader and other authorities visited him, seizing official documents that stated he and his family of five were part of the village and changing the date to three years earlier. They also fined See the equivalent of $500 because the worship gatherings went against the village’s rules and spirits. “If you do not pay, then stop your faith!” they told him. See did not follow their orders. He continues to gather with others in his home to worship God.
Pray that village leaders will return See’s family’s official papers stating they are part of the village. Pray also that See’s bold faith will lead others to Christ and that their church will grow.
