YEMEN — Man Accused of Blasphemy Faces Death
Bashir is accused of blasphemy in Yemen.
A man accused of blasphemy in Yemen may face the death penalty.
Bashir Al-Bakari was arrested in Jan. 2021 by the Muslim Brotherhood militia in Taiz, who accused him of apostasy and preaching Christianity. Bashir’s brother said Bashir was accused of running a missionary network and of receiving huge sums from abroad. He also said he was not allowed to visit his brother, who suffers poor health, and that the charges could not be true, because Bashir struggles to provide for his five children who live with him in a one-room home.
Pray for Bashir and his family. Pray that God will use this event to extend his witness.
