IVORY COAST — Muslim Fathers Reject Their Christian Children

Two Christians were rejected because of their faith.

Yacouba was hit by a car and paralyzed. He followed Christ after Christians in his village prayed for him and he was healed. Yacouba’s father then wanted to kill him, so he fled to a local church. Another believer experienced similar persecution. Flora struggled with illness that caused erratic behavior and insomnia. During a Christian meeting in her village, she received prayer and was healed. She also became a follower of Jesus. This decision infuriated her father, who told her she must choose family or Christ. She remained firm in her faith and was kicked out. Though her living conditions are difficult, she remains committed to Christ. “She consistently goes to church,” a front-line worker said. “She prays that she has strength to continue living faithfully for God.”
