FREE 2020 WALL CALENDAR SEEKS TO INCREASE PRAYER FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS
Seeking to promote more knowledgeable and frequent prayer for persecuted Christians around the world, persecution ministry Voice of the Martyrs Korea is offering a free 2020 full-color wall calendar to individuals who request it directly from the ministry this month.
According to Voice of the Martyrs Korea representative Hyun Sook Foley, each day on the calendar lists a detailed prayer request for an actual Christian or church facing persecution, while each month features a different full-color inspirational photo of Christians carrying on their ministry in countries closed to the gospel.

Representative Foley says,
“The first request of our persecuted brothers and sisters is always ‘Pray for us.’ However, their prayers are often quite different than how we might pray. Instead of asking to be rescued from suffering, for example, they ask for God to keep them faithful in the midst of suffering and to use their suffering to further the gospel. That’s why this calendar is special: We ask persecuted Christians what they want us to pray for them, rather than us just praying for them what we think they need.”
Foley believes that both the detailed daily prayer requests and the photos of joyful Christians in closed countries are important for Korean Christians to see.
“The calendar is not full of sad faces or depressing prayer requests because in our experience, persecuted Christians are typically more joyful and bold and ministry-driven than Christians in other countries,” says Foley. “We believe Korean Christians will grow in their faith as a result of using this calendar to pray together daily with persecuted Christians.”

Anyone signed up for the calendar will also receive a free subscription to VOMK’s popular monthly newsletter, which keeps readers up-to-date on persecution news from around the world, including updates from prayers prayed earlier in the year.
Because of the cost of the calendar, the free offer is only available to individuals who contact the ministry directly to request the calendar for themselves. There is a limit of one free calendar per household. Bulk orders for the free calendar are not accepted.
