In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Islamists are attacking Christian villages. They assault, kidnap and kill members of our Christian family. They burn homes and churches — attempting to silence the witness of Christians and stop the advance of the gospel. Dozens of local Christians have been abducted and told to recant their faith in Christ and convert to Islam. Those abducted have witnessed horrific acts of violence against fellow Christians.

For our brothers and sisters who endure these attacks, the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual distress interrupts and affects all aspects of their lives. In response, VOM front-line workers help meet the practical needs of these persecuted Christians in addition to providing Scriptural trauma care.

VOM’s 2025 IDOP short feature film is set in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Viewers meet Daniel and Aline, two front-line workers whose ministry is focused on caring for those who have experienced traumatic persecution at the hands of Muslim extremists.

Even in the midst of such terrible circumstances, Daniel, Aline and the brothers and sisters they minister too, experience the comfort, provision and reminder that God has not forgotten them.
