[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Based on the bestselling novel of the same name,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Tortured for Christ<\/span><\/span>\u00a0is the story of Romanian Jewish pastor Richard\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand’s<\/span>\u00a0struggle to remain faithful to Christ in Communist Romania.\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand’s<\/span>\u00a0faithfulness landed him in prison for more than fourteen years, but prison could not break his faith. To preserve the authenticity of\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand’s<\/span>\u00a0story, many of\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand’s<\/span>\u00a0lines were taken from his writing. Dialogue was originally in English, Romanian, and Russian (with English subtitles). This was a song that persecuted Christians like\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand<\/span>\u00a0sang using only their prison chains as a musical instrument.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

“Most filmmakers choose ritzy venues to host their movie premiers,” Voice of the Martyrs Korea representative Hyun Sook Foley says. <\/span><\/p>\n

“However, we felt that\u00a0<\/span>our office<\/span>\u00a0(<\/span>which is\u00a0<\/span>design<\/span>ed in a prison concept in order\u00a0<\/span>to remind visitors of\u00a0<\/span>the reality of\u00a0<\/span>Christian<\/span>\u00a0persecution<\/span>) was truer to Richard\u00a0Wurmbrand’s\u00a0prison experience–and the experience of persecuted Christians\u00a0<\/span>in more than 70 countries\u00a0<\/span>around the world<\/span>\u00a0today<\/span>.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Voice of the Martyrs\u00a0<\/span>Korea, a non-profit organization which supports persecuted Christians all over the word, is an branch of the ministry Richard\u00a0Wurmbrand\u00a0founded after released from more than 14 years of torture and imprisonment.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Our organization was born in\u00a0Wurmbrand’s\u00a0torture cell in prison,” representative Foley points out.\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]“After 14 years of persecution, abuse, and psychological assault, Pastor\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand<\/span>\u00a0travelled to the West to inform churches there about the persecution of Christians around the world. Voice of the Martyrs Korea continues Pastor\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand’s<\/span>\u00a0work, even today.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Voice of the Martyrs Korea is one of more than 20 independent organizations around the world that were inspired by Pastor\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand<\/span>,” representative Foley explains. “Pastor\u00a0<\/span>Wurmbrand<\/span>\u00a0visited Korea\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in 19<\/span><\/span>92<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and initiated ministry into North Korea in 1969 by sending scripture into North Korea via radio and balloon.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Tortured For Christ<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and his other books were also translated into Korean. However, all Christians should watch this movie because its focus is on the power of the Christian faith to overcome any obstacle, something of which we all need to be reminded.”<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
