This \u201canti-conversion\u201d law was established last year to prevent conversions to Christianity in the former Hindu kingdom and is only now being implemented.&#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:p|font_size:1.2em|text_align:left&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Noto%20Sans%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal&#8221; el_class=&#8221;headline&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;6865&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOnly a small minority of Nepal is Christian, but this minority is slowly and steadily growing,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Voice of the Martyrs board chair Hyun Sook Foley explains.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMany believe this law was implemented to institutionalize Hinduism and stop the spread of Christianity.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row overlay_dotted=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<aside id=\"sidebar\">\n<section class=\"sidebar-section\">\n<div class=\"text\">\n<div id=\"text\">\n<p>According to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, the church in Nepal has been growing at a faster rate than nearly anywhere else in the world. And, according to Voice of the Martyrs Korea board chair Foley, it has been said that starting August 15<sup>th<\/sup>, Christian leaders will be targeted, arrested and prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPartners inside Nepal have been told that Hindu forces within the government have already drafted a list of Christian leaders to be immediately jailed, and several of the leaders Voice of the Martyrs works with are on that list,\u201d board chair Foley explains. \u201cIn the last decade, these men have overseen the planting of thousands of churches. It makes sense that they\u2019d be targeted by forces trying to halt the growth of the Church.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked how to pray for the church in Nepal, board chair Foley explained that while praying for the safety and security of our Nepalese brothers and sisters is a must, there are also other ways to pray.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the law is enforced and Christian leaders are arrested, please pray that their families will be provided for and that they would be strengthened by God to do his work wherever he might send them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Board chair Foley adds, \u201cOur hearts are heavy for our brothers and sisters in Nepal. We are concerned for their safety, their families, and their future. However, we know the One who holds them.
