Once <\/span>again,<\/span> she refused.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]The result was a serious assault on <\/span>Sister T<\/span>. \u201cShe <\/span>suffered severe pain and was rushed to hospital, where doctors discovered several fractures<\/span>,\u201d says <\/span>Representative Foley<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span>\u201cSurgery was <\/span>required to insert pins and stabili<\/span>ze<\/span> the fractures with splints.<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Voice of the Martyrs Korea <\/span>released photos of Sister T\u2019s hospital visit and x-rays <\/span>in order to<\/span> call attention to the plight of Christians in Vietnam\u2019s Highlands. When they refused, they were told they would have to pay 10 million VND <\/span>(approximately <\/span>520,000 KRW) <\/span>to remain. After being threatened with violence, Brother O gave them <\/span>all the money he had, which was around 6<\/span> million VND (approximately <\/span>310,000 KRW<\/span><\/span>).<\/span> <\/span>About a <\/span>month <\/span>ago, the men returned and accused the couple of illegally preaching the gospel and holding unauthori<\/span>z<\/span>ed church gatherings in their home. Before Brother O<\/span><\/span> could respond, they attacked him with a sharp object. Thankfully, it narrowly missed his eye.<\/span><\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]When asked whether they planned to move away, Brother O* <\/span>told Voice of the Martyrs <\/span>that his family would have nowhere to go and no way to earn a living.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]\u201c<\/span><\/span>He said that i<\/span>f they left, the local authorities would also confiscate their home and land<\/span>,\u201d says <\/span>Representative Foley<\/span><\/span>. <\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/span>He said he would rather die for Christ than abandon the Christian brothers and sisters who gather in his home or the people he is leading to Christ.<\/span><\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”60679″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_custom_heading text=”Brother O describes efforts to force he and his wife to leave their home and village ” font_container=”tag:p|font_size:13px|text_align:center|color:%230a0101|line_height:1.45em” css=””][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Representative Foley <\/span>said that evangelists who travel by motorcycle to reach small groups of Christians in <\/span>the <\/span>remote villages <\/span>of Vietnam\u2019s Highlands <\/span>are frequent targets of persecution.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]\u201c<\/span><\/span>Brother <\/span>H*<\/span> (*name withheld for security reasons)<\/span><\/span> was training his son in evangelism<\/span>. They <\/span>often <\/span>rode together by motorcycle <\/span>to villages where they shared the gospel with unreached people. On one journey, they reali<\/span>z<\/span>ed they were being followed. <\/span>They <\/span>attempt<\/span>ed<\/span> to escape by taking a shortcut along a rough road<\/span><\/span>.<\/span> <\/span>They both fell from the motorcycle. Brother <\/span>H suffered only minor <\/span>injuries<\/span>, but his son hit his head. A CT scan revealed bleeding on the brain<\/span><\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]D<\/span>octors initially considered surgery<\/span><\/span>,<\/span> <\/span>says <\/span>Representative Foley<\/span>. After further consultation, however, they decided to <\/span>continue to <\/span>monitor<\/span> him.<\/span> She says her organization and the other Voice of the <\/span>Martyrs<\/span> offices are also continuing to <\/span>monitor<\/span> the situation <\/span>in case help is needed.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]In the 2026 report by the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, the Commission recommended that the U.S. State Department <\/span>designate<\/span> Vietnam as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC)<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”60674″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_custom_heading text=”The son of motorcycle evangelist Brother H.
