But\u00a0<\/span>they neglect the second part of that Commission: \u2018Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you\u2019,\u201d says Pastor Foley. \u201cPastors and Christian teachers\u00a0<\/span>tend to look\u00a0<\/span>at this as just a general command\u00a0<\/span>about\u00a0<\/span>Jesus<\/span>\u2019 teachings<\/span>. But in Acts 28:20, Paul tells the Ephesian elders<\/span>\u00a0that he had proclaimed to them \u2018the whole will of God<\/span>\u2019.<\/span>\u00a0Not only is it possible for us to teach people to obey everything Jesus\u2019 commands<\/span>; i<\/span>t is\u00a0<\/span>actually Jesus\u2019<\/span>\u00a0commandment to us.\u00a0<\/span>So<\/span>\u00a0I\u00a0<\/span>wrote<\/span>\u00a0this book to provide a 12-month plan\u00a0<\/span>to<\/span>\u00a0pastors, teachers, and parents\u00a0<\/span>which enables them to keep this\u00a0<\/span>commandment<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Pastor Foley says that it is important to note that Jesus did not only command Christian leaders to teach others what Jesus<\/span>\u00a0taught<\/span>. \u201cJesus commanded us, \u2018Teach the<\/span>m<\/span>\u00a0to obey\u2019,\u201d says Pastor Foley. \u201cThat means we must teach people how to do the<\/span>se things<\/span>. James tells us, \u2018Be doers of the word, not hearers\u00a0<\/span>only.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]In Pastor Foley\u2019s \u201cWhole Life Offering\u201d book, he devotes one chapter to each of the ways Jesus commands his disciples to do the word.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”56673″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” css=””][vc_custom_heading text=”Voice of the Martyrs Korea CEO Pastor Eric Foley and Representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley announce the release of Pastor Foley\u2019s new book, The Whole Life Offering. ” font_container=”tag:p|font_size:13px|text_align:center|color:%230a0101|line_height:1.45em” css=””][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]\u201cThere are individual chapters on \u2018Sharing your bread<\/span>\u2019,<\/span>\u00a0\u2018Opening your home<\/span>\u2019,<\/span>\u00a0\u2018Visiting<\/span>\u2019,<\/span>\u00a0\u2018Healing and comforting<\/span>\u2019,<\/span>\u00a0\u2018Proclaiming the gospel<\/span>\u2019,<\/span>\u00a0\u2018Forgiving<\/span>\u2019,<\/span>\u00a0and so on,\u201d says Pastor Foley. \u201cEach chapter is then subdivided into sections where we learn: What does scripture teach us about this<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>particular ministry<\/span>? How have Christians done this ministry since the time of Christ on through today? How can we incorporate this ministry into our\u00a0<\/span>personal<\/span>, family, and church worship and prayer times? How does Christ call us to use our money and our possessions to do this\u00a0<\/span>particular ministry<\/span>?\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Pastor Foley says that the material in the book is what he and his wife, Voice of the Martyrs Korea Representative Dr Hyun Sook Foley, have taught in their ministry to North Korean, Chinese, and Russian-speaking underground Christians for decades.
