Those were the remarks of Pastor Eric Foley, CEO of Voice of the Martyrs Korea, at last week\u2019s Taiwan International Religious Freedom Summit (TIRF). The event was attended by more than 200 NGO leaders and government officials, including Taiwan\u2019s Vice President Lai Ching-Te, President of the Legislative Assembly You Si-Kun, former US Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback, and members of parliament from Japan, Europe, Nigeria, and South and Southeast Asia. &#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:p|font_size:1.2em|text_align:left&#8221; google_fonts=&#8221;font_family:Noto%20Sans%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:700%20bold%20regular%3A700%3Anormal&#8221; el_class=&#8221;headline&#8221;][vc_column_text]<span class=\"TextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">The event was the third-ever Taiwan International Religious Freedom Summit, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">organized<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\"> by the International Religious Freedom Secretariat, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">US <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">NGO <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">China<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">Aid<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW137688373 BCX8\">. How do they live their Christian life? Defenders of religious freedom need to understand that North Korean Christians are not simply waiting around to be persecuted.
