\u201cThey call him the \u2018Gospel Warrior\u2019,\u201d says Voice of the Martyrs Korea Representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley. \u201cFor years he has walked the streets of Hengyang City, Hunan Province, as well as in other provinces in China and even in Vietnam. He carries a wooden cross displaying the words \u2018<\/span>Glory to our Savior<\/span>\u2019 and \u2018<\/span>Repent and be saved by faith<\/span>\u2019, and he hands out gospel tracts, even to the police who arrest him.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]According to Representative Foley, local officials made multiple visits to Evangelist<\/span> Chen<\/span>\u2019s home in advance of the <\/span>20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party<\/span> in late October<\/span>. <\/span>\u201cPolice warned him not to preach during the congress,\u201d she says. \u201cEvangelist Chen says t<\/span>hey tried to persuade him to join the local Three-Self church. <\/span>He says t<\/span>hey <\/span>even offered to let him replace the<\/span> two pastors of the local <\/span>Three-Self <\/span>church<\/span>. He says they promised <\/span>him the opportunity to <\/span>preach <\/span>to large crowds in <\/span>government-approved <\/span>locations in Hunan province.<\/span> When he wouldn\u2019t agree, they begged his wife to try to reason with him.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

\u201cBut Evangelist Chen just welcomed the officers into his home, gave them gospel tracts, and told them, \u2018<\/span>Officers, I\u2019m glad you c<\/span>a<\/span>me again. Jesus loves you and blesses you!<\/span>\u2019\u201d says Representative Foley.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cYears <\/span>ago<\/span> he was a drug addict. When he heard the gospel, he <\/span>was delivered from his addiction and immediately <\/span>began preaching on the streets. <\/span>He\u2019s been a street preacher for more than 10 years. <\/span>He is a member of a small church, and yet<\/span> even the authorities testify to the breadth of his impact<\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
