\u201cFor underground Christians, \u2018mission\u2019 means Bible distribution\u00a0<\/span>and gospel proclamation\u00a0<\/span>to unbelievers,\u201d says Representative Foley. \u201cWhereas missionaries from Korea and the West\u00a0<\/span>have shifted to humanitarian aid, business-as-mission, and\u00a0<\/span>friendship building models of mission, underground Christians\u00a0<\/span>in places like Egypt\u00a0<\/span>are remaining completely focused on distributing the word of God to people who haven\u2019t yet heard the gospel.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>It is a personally costly outreach<\/span>\u00a0for them<\/span>, but they continue to say to us, \u2018Give us the tools\u2014the Bibles\u2014and we will complete the work of the Great Commission.<\/span>\u00a0We believe that is why God is\u00a0<\/span>primarily\u00a0<\/span>using local believers rather than\u00a0<\/span>foreign\u00a0<\/span>missionaries on the front lines of mission in closed countries:\u00a0<\/span>They are risking their lives to spread\u00a0<\/span>only\u00a0<\/span>God\u2019s word<\/span>.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”40212″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_custom_heading text=”Boxes of Bibles on the way for distribution to Egyptian Muslims” font_container=”tag:p|font_size:13px|text_align:center|color:%230a0a0a|line_height:1.45em” google_fonts=”font_family:Noto%20Sans%3Aregular%2Citalic%2C700%2C700italic|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Representative Foley points to the testimony of \u201cNour\u201d, an Egyptian who was formerly Muslim but who became a\u00a0<\/span>Christian through receiving and reading a Bible. \u201cNour\u2019s husband kicked her out of their home and only allowed their children to visit her once a month<\/span>,\u201d says Representative Foley. \u201cBut every time they visited, Nour\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>15-year-old<\/span>\u00a0daughter, Mariam,\u00a0<\/span>could see\u00a0<\/span>a change in her mother\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>ch<\/span>a<\/span>racter<\/span>, as Nour had bec<\/span>o<\/span>me a much more loving person. Mariam\u00a0<\/span>kept asking her mother the reason for the change, but Nour did not want to share out of fear that her husband might cut off all visits from the children if he found out she had shared the gospel with them.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]But according to Representative Foley, the situation changed during the Coronavirus. \u201c<\/span>Nour’s husband<\/span>\u2019s mother got COVID and had to be admitted to the hospital. Nour\u2019s husband had to stay at the hospital with his mother, so he sent the children to live temporarily with Nour<\/span>,\u201d\u00a0<\/span>says Representative Foley<\/span>. \u201c<\/span>At th<\/span>at<\/span>\u00a0same time, one of the local Egyptian Christians we were partnering with asked if they could store Bibles at her house. So<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0the Lord sent\u00a0<\/span>Nour\u00a0<\/span>her children and the Bibles at the same time! When Mariam found the Bibles, she asked her mother why they were there, and Nour answered, \u2018<\/span>To be distributed to those who are having hunger in their heart to know the true loving God<\/span>.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Representative Foley says\u00a0<\/span>Mariam asked\u00a0<\/span>for a\u00a0<\/span>Bible\u00a0<\/span>to read before she had to return to her father\u2019s home. \u201cShe read the Sermon on the Mount<\/span>\u00a0and w<\/span>as amazed by\u00a0<\/span>Jesus\u2019 teaching,\u201d says Representative Foley. \u201cShe kept on reading the whole day, and when Nour came in that evening, Mariam\u2019s face was covered with tears.\u00a0<\/span>Nour\u00a0<\/span>asked\u00a0<\/span>her what\u00a0<\/span>had\u00a0<\/span>happened<\/span>, and\u00a0<\/span>Mariam\u00a0<\/span>said that she wanted the life that Jesus had come to give people.\u00a0<\/span>So<\/span>\u00a0they prayed together, and\u00a0<\/span>Mariam committed her life to Jesus<\/span>. May the\u00a0<\/span>L<\/span>ord reward the labor of your love<\/span>.\u2019\u00a0<\/span>Our local partner told us, \u2018<\/span>The power of the Word of God is opening spiritual gates for Muslims and nominal Christians to know the Lord Jesus as a personal Savior for them<\/span>.\u2019<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Representative Foley says that\u00a0the cost of providing each Bible is 7,000 KRW, with the total\u00a0project\u00a0cost of\u00a035,000,000 KRW for\u00a0distributing all 5,000 Bibles\u00a0in 2022.
