\u201cEvangelist Chen\u00a0<\/span>Wensheng<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>was\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Christian\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u2018Detainee No. 0001\u2019 for 2021,\u201d said Voice of the Martyrs Korea Representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley. \u201c<\/span><\/span>The document, from the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Zhengxiang<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Branch of Public Security Bureau of Hengyang City, states that Chen\u00a0<\/span>Wensheng<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>his associate,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Zhou Long<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0spread the message of Christianity at two places<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0through broadcast and flyers on\u00a0<\/span><\/span>New\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Year’s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Eve. T<\/span><\/span>his is not the first arrest for\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u201cStreet Preacher Chen\u201d<\/span><\/span>. \u201c<\/span><\/span>P<\/span><\/span>olice\u00a0<\/span><\/span>have arrested and detained him repeatedly,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>with his last 10-day detention starting August 3,<\/span><\/span>\u201d said Representative Foley. \u201cBut\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Street Preacher Chen continues to proclaim the gospel on the streets of Hengyang.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>He is passionate\u00a0<\/span><\/span>about spreading the gospel, sometimes alone, at times with others, as he regularly preaches on streets throughout the busy city<\/span><\/span>.\u201d Representative Foley notes that the evangelist often\u00a0<\/span><\/span>holds a cross with the inscription: \u201cGlorify the Lord.
