\u201cAlways the number one request\u00a0<\/span><\/span>we hear\u00a0<\/span><\/span>from persecuted Christians\u00a0<\/span><\/span>like\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Mosa<\/span><\/span>\u00a0is for other Christians to pray for them,\u201d says Voice of the Martyrs Korea representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u201cSo\u00a0<\/span><\/span>once each hour,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>for 24 hours beginning at 6PM on New Year<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>s Eve<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and continuing on to 6PM on New Year<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>s Day<\/span><\/span>, we\u00a0<\/span><\/span>will be\u00a0<\/span><\/span>post<\/span><\/span>ing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0a prayer request from a persecuted Christian<\/span><\/span>\u00a0on our Facebook page, and we invite\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Korean<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Christians to pray for that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>request<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0We\u00a0<\/span><\/span>encourage them\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>write<\/span><\/span>\u00a0their prayer<\/span><\/span>s for these persecuted Christians\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>c<\/span><\/span>omments section of each Facebook post.<\/span><\/span>\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Representative\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Foley said that Voice of the Martyrs Korea did its first 24-hour New Year<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>s prayer campaign last year, and the response was\u00a0<\/span><\/span>strong. \u201c<\/span><\/span>We post each prayer request at the top of each hour. Some people checked in each hour for 24 hours and wrote brief prayers. Others prayed for the whole hour for each prayer request. Some churches and small groups\u00a0<\/span><\/span>made this their New Year<\/span><\/span>\u2019<\/span><\/span>s Eve event. Others prayed on their own, setting their phone alarms each hour overnight to wake up to pray for each request. It was very moving, and we believe it moves God\u2019s heart as well<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and makes a definite impact in the lives of persecuted Christians<\/span><\/span>.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]In addition to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Mosa\u2019s<\/span><\/span>\u00a0prayer request in Hour #17,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Representative Foley says\u00a0<\/span><\/span>this year\u2019s 24<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>hour campaign includes requests from persecuted Christians in China, Uzbekistan, Laos, Nigeria, Uganda, Iran, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Eritrea, the Arabian Peninsula, Colombia, Tajikistan, and Cuba.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span><\/span>This prayer campaign is unprecedented because we will be praying for specific persecuted Christians by name, using their specific prayer requests, and we will be providing actual photos from these Christians to help us pray,\u201d says Representative Foley. \u201cThese are not\u00a0<\/span><\/span>vague,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>general prayer requests for Christians in hostile and restricted nations. These are specific requests from specific brothers and sisters whose stories we know and have verified. They are partners with us and with our sister Voice of the Martyrs organizations around the world.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Representative Foley says that preparations for the 24-hour prayer campaign began in early fall. \u201cFirst, we and our Voice of the Martyrs sister missions had to identify persecuted Christians who were willing to share. Then we had to gather their prayer requests and related photos, carefully sanitizing them by changing names and blocking out details that could put them in danger. Then we had to translate the requests into Korean, Chinese, and Russian for each of our Voice of the Martyrs Korea Facebook pages.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cThe amazing thing is that not only are we praying for persecuted Christians; they are praying for us, too,\u201d says Representative Foley. \u201cFor example, in Hour\u00a0<\/span><\/span>#<\/span><\/span>14 we will be praying for Christians in Iran.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Hundreds of Iranian Christians\u00a0<\/span><\/span>were im<\/span><\/span>prison<\/span><\/span>ed<\/span><\/span>\u00a0for their faith<\/span><\/span>\u00a0this year<\/span><\/span>. Intelligence agents arrested believers in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>multiple\u00a0<\/span><\/span>coordinated raids<\/span><\/span>. Yet, the Iranian church continues to grow. And it continues to pray for the church around the world.\u201d<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
