The award-winning movie was filmed entirely in Romania, including inside one of the prisons where Pastor Wurmbrand endured torture and solitary confinement. According to Voice of the Martyrs representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley, many churches had made reservations to show the movie at their churches during Passion Week, when Christians typically concentrate on the suffering of Christ and the sacrifices required to follow him. Representative Foley said that when Coronavirus forced the cancellation of many gatherings, Voice of the Martyrs Korea got the idea to make the movie available to all Korean Christians online for Passion Week.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]More than 25,000 viewers watched the movie during three free online weekend showings in March. The movie received many unsolicited endorsements from viewers, including from Rev. Yoo Gi-Seong, Senior Pastor of Good Shepherd Methodist Church, who wrote,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cA true story about Richard Wurmbrand who overcame harsh persecution with strong faith. I hope all of our Church members will watch this movie\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Voice of the Martyrs Korea had arranged the free online showings because many Christians were unable to attend worship due to the Coronavirus.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut when the March weekend showings ended, people kept calling our office and posting on our Facebook page asking us to show it again,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Representative Foley says.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe believe Passion Week during the Coronavirus may be God\u2019s appointed time for this movie. The movie takes place in a prison and shows great suffering. But it shows even more the victory that comes to those who trust in Christ, no matter what. That is the message we need to remember and think deeply about at this hour.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Representative Foley says temporary Coronavirus restrictions on worship gatherings can serve the positive purpose of reminding Korean Christians that Christians in other countries face permanent bans on gathering.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cChristians in more than 70 countries around the world have to worship in hiding in their homes every week, due not to the Coronavirus but to persecution,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>says Representative Foley.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cHebrews 13:3 reminds us that we are bound together with them.
