CHINESE HOUSE CHURCH RAIDED FOR THE SECOND TIME IN TWO MONTHS

Authorities in China’s Fujian province raided more than a dozen homes of members of the Xingguang Church on June 11. The homes had been used as worship places for the church. The raid is the second on Xingguang Church in the past two months.

Voice of the Martyrs Korea representative Dr. Hyun Sook Foley reports,

At around 9:00 a.m. on June 11, more than 100 officials from several government departments arrived at the homes of Xingguang Church members. They moved furniture from the homes into the hallway. They yelled, What are you recording! at a person filming the incident and took the person’s phone away.

Representative Foley says that the authorities then proceeded to destroy property, as recorded on video supplied by the churchIn all, more than 12 homes were ruined,” says Representative FoleyShe indicated that all had served as worship places for the church.

Chinese officials destroy the property of Xingguang Church Christians.

Wang Xiaofei, the wife of Xingguang Church’s pastor, asked for prayer from her friends on the social media platform WeChat.

Representative Foley says that Voice of the Martyrs Korea is calling on Christians to join in prayer on behalf of Xingguang Church.

Ask God to help them encourage one another and not lose heart,” says Representative Foley. “Pray for provision for those who have suffered loss and damage. As the opposition from the Chinese authorities continues to increase, pray that the Lord will give believers strength to withstand.

On May 3, more than 100 law enforcement personnel raided a worship service held by Xingguang Church and beat Christians and onlookers, injuring several and taking several church members into custody

“These two raids in the past two months show that the Coronavirus has not deterred Chinese authorities from continuing their harsh crackdown on house churches,” says Representative Foley. We must be even more relentless with our prayers than the authorities are with their attacks.
